In fact, on the bolt kit, I deepened the lower cutaway and the tummy cut for better access and more comfort before finishing it. I've owned and played a number of Carvin guitars, and been very favorably impressed by each one. Both Carvin and EBMM make high-quality instruments, using many of the same manufacturing processes. The bodies are rather generic, i.e., the tummy cut and contours are shallow. Neck and fret work on the Carvins are excellent, close to the Suhrs and superior to the Ibanez. And choice of fret size and material, but Carvin has no compound radius option. I was wondering if anyone could give me some opinions on Carvin guitars, the DC127, DC135 and boltplus to be more specific. Overall, I would say it was worth the investment and has been a solid reliable guitar for many years.I would def. No, you just have a choice of radius- 10, 12 or 14 inch. Sperzel locking tuners and Wilkinson are nice and no flaws in the plating.May have gone with the tuneommatic in retrospect but I bought mine from my teacher and he used the trem a lot for metal. Pickups and electronics. Not too shabby.I took the bright cap off the volume pot and had a PAF style nickel cover Tonerider HB put in the bridge. But the Carvin C22 bridge HB's are very similar to what I chose aftermarket for the bridge one.Neck pickup, I left it because it was very clear and articulate(I think it was the M22 or something in mine). Finish/fit.Mine has a quilt maple top with greenburst and it is imppecable and deeply figured/well finished. No complaints at all.Looks great and the grain is highlighted by the greenburst. Neck-Very comfy profile. Not a boat neck but not super skinny like an Ibanez Wizard profile o kinny either.I would say a nice, medium profile.Easy to hit chords and also nice for upper register leads(up to the 24 fret even!).ΔΆ. I have a Carvin DC127.It's the two pickup version of the model you are looking at.And in my case has 2 HB's with coil taps.I would be glad to offer you some impressions.
